AmCham has 20 sector committees that ensure the development of the Philippine business ecosystem in terms of providing relevant inputs/opportunities/avenues that can lead to economic development, social development, policy formulation, and innovation among others. These Committees allow American and non-American businesses to synergize to promote common goals and objectives aimed to bring solidarity of interests and development of the business environment.
The Agribusiness (AGRI) Committee aspires to address issues and policies concerning the Philippine agricultural scene by bringing in key stakeholders to strengthen technological resources to advance agribusiness in the country.
The Creative Industries (CI) committee pursues to develop and bring together the growing industries devoted to creativity, design, and innovation. Furthermore, the committee intends to give value to the importance of multi-media knowledge and information as a form of economy in the Philippines.
The Education Committee (EdCom) aims to inform AmCham membership about developments in the field of education in the Philippines. It helps bridge education initiatives with business requirements showcasing different models for collaboration between the education and business sectors. The committee will also conduct events to bring together universities, international schools, placement agencies, educators, students, and other relevant stakeholders.
Energy and Power
The Energy and Power (EP) Committee provides an avenue to discuss and disseminate relevant information on matters affecting the energy sector and its stakeholders. It also seeks to contribute to the development of the sector by promoting sound policy positions on proposed legislations for the common interest of the business community.
Environment and Urban Development
The Environment and Urban Development (EUD) Committee fosters a constructive partnership among business community, Government, and other stakeholders to promote best environmental practices from AmCham community and improve regulatory framework to support sustainable development of communities and businesses. It also serves as a communications channel on environmental concerns for the AmCham membership as well as a platform for the community to engage and promote environmental sustainability and development goals.
Financial Services, Taxes, and Tariff
The Financial Services, Taxes and Tariffs (FSTT) Committee tackles current issues and/or policy change in the tax system in the Philippines. It also includes discussions on banking system and currency, monetary policies, international finance, and financial literacy.
Healthcare and Wellness
The Healthcare and Wellness (HW) Committee continuously supports health and wellness programs and efforts from both the public and private sectors, keeping in mind the importance of a healthy population in nation-building. The committee also brings pertinent, up-to-date medical information to promote awareness to members.
Human Capital and Resources
The Human Capital and Resources (HCR) Committee endeavors to develop better understanding of the Philippine industrial relations system for improved company operations, as well as for the betterment of the overall work force. The committee also monitors and advocates labor-related issues of the AmCham membership.
Information and Communications Technology
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Committee acts as a liaison between the AmCham business community and the Governments of the Philippines and the U.S. regarding telecommunications and IT policies. It also shares information on activities and policies of the ICT sector with members involved in the industry.
Infrastructure and Logistics
The Infrastructure and Logistics (IL) Committee serves as a conduit for experts to share insights on the latest infrastructure development plans with members through informative events, and to advocate for members’ interest in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction. The committee also aims to address issues related to freight forwarding and logistics management.
Intellectual Property Rights
The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Committee provides assistance in strengthening the intellectual property of the AmCham membership. The Committee also conducts surveys to determine the extent of damage/loss suffered by companies affected by violations.
The Legislative Committee (LegCom) meets regularly to discuss issues that significantly impact Philippine competitiveness and the country’s investment environment. It also monitors the progress of key legislation, executive orders, and implementing rules and regulations concerning the AmCham membership.
The Manufacturing (MFG) Committee promotes the manufacturing industry of the Philippines as a contributor in the achievement of inclusive growth. It also provides members updates on different opportunities available to multiple sectors for the advancement of manufacturing companies.
The Pharmaceutical (PHARMA) Committee serves as a venue for understanding and cooperation among Pharmaceutical businesses and industries. The committee also aims to discuss policy/s that may affect the industry, tackle challenges, and widen opportunities for the industry.
Professional Women of AmCham
The Professional Women of AmCham (PWA) Committee promotes professional women’s leadership and aims for gender equality in business in the Philippines. Its mission is to provide women executive members with a platform to advance their leadership, professional development, and visibility in the business community. The committee welcomes partnerships with other entities, and encourages women business groups to reach out so links could be developed among AmCham members.
Security and Disaster Group
The Security & Disaster Resource Group (SDRG) and Committee Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) is a core group of select AmCham security practitioners and executives operating in the Philippines
The Sustainability Committee of AmCham aims to champion varied efforts of our members in ensuring a better future for the next generations. It aims to serve as a coordinating body across multistakeholders in educating and showcasing various programs and activities of AmCham members on sustainability.
Tourism and Hospitality
The Tourism and Hospitality (TH) Committee provides a platform for both public and private sectors to dialogue in order to develop effective policies and strategies to promote the Philippines as a Tourism and Travel destination.
Trade and Investment
The Trade and Investment (TI) Committee works to promote the United States and Philippines overall economic relations. The committee conducts various fora to discuss and disseminate information on trade and investment related issues.
Young Professionals of AmCham
The Young Professionals of AmCham (YP) Committee expands on the Chamber’s efforts to attract, engage, and develop the next generation of business leaders. It is a platform for young, pro-active, high potential and highly motivated individuals to leverage the broader network and knowledge of senior AmCham members and to meet fellow professionals from other large organizations to share ideas and experiences.
